Dear Mr. Chivini:
In your letter dated October 6, 2004 you requested a tariff classification ruling.
The subject product, (1R, 2S) N-Boc-1-amino-2-vinyl-cyclopropane carboxylic acid, is a cyclic nonaromatic carboxyamide-function compound indicated for use as a pharmaceutical intermediate.
The applicable subheading for (1R, 2S) N-Boc-1-amino-2-vinyl-cyclopropane carboxylic acid, also known as Cyclopropanecarboxylic acid, 1-[[(1,1-dimethylethoxy) carbonyl] amino] -2-ethenyl-, (1R, 2S), will be 2924.29.9500, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for Cyclic amides (including cyclic carbamates) and their derivatives; salts thereof: Other: Other: Other….. The rate of duty will be 6.5 percent ad valorem and will remain the same in 2005.
This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
