RE: The tariff classification of a woman’s woven skirt from China.
Dear Ms. De Silva:
In your letter dated April 18, 2006, you requested a tariff classification ruling.
The submitted sample, Style #PP349624, is woman’s skirt constructed from 100% cotton woven corduroy fabric. The garment features a flat waistband with elastic at both sides, a partial rear opening with a one-button closure, and a hemmed bottom. The garment also has embroidery and spangles all around the bottom above the hem.
We are returning your sample as you requested.
The applicable subheading for the skirt, Style PP349624 will be 6204.52.2010, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for women’s or girls’ skirts and divided skirts, of cotton: Other, corduroy, women’s. The rate of duty will be 8.2% ad valorem.
