Dear Mr. Chivini:
In your letter dated August 9, 2006, you requested a tariff classification ruling.

Pursuant to Note 3 to Chapter 29, HTSUS, the applicable subheading for Ascorbic Acid, imported in bulk form, will be 2936.27.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid) and its derivatives.” The rate of duty will be free.
Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/.
