RE: The tariff classification of Sancycline (CAS-808-26-4), imported in bulk form, from Italy
Dear Ms. Mannisto:
In your letter dated February 2, 2007, you requested a tariff classification ruling.
The subject product, Sancycline, is a semi-synthetic antibiotic derived from tetracycline. It is indicated for use as an antibacterial drug.
The applicable subheading for Sancycline, imported in bulk form, will be 2941.30.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Antibiotics: Tetracyclines and their derivatives; salts thereof.” The rate of duty will be free.
