RE: The tariff classification of "Set/4 Shoe Fresheners", from China
Dear Ms. Ramsey:
In your letter dated February 9, 2007 you requested a tariff classification ruling. Your inquiry concerns the classification of Shoe Fresheners. Samples were submitted with your ruling request and will not be returned.
The subject product, SKU # 58960, consists of two pairs of Shoe Fresheners. The items are scented sachets used to absorb odors from shoes and provide a pleasant scent. The sachets, composed of 100% cotton, are filled with cedar shavings. Each sachet has a loop attached to the top. The sachets can also be used for hanging in closets or placed in dresser drawers to fragrance clothing.
The applicable subheading for the Shoe Fresheners will be 3307.90.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for Pre-shave, shaving or after-shave preparations, personal deodorants, bath preparations, depilatories and other perfumery, cosmetic or toilet preparations, not elsewhere specified or included; prepared room deodorizers, whether or not perfumed or having disinfectant properties: Other. The rate of duty will be 5.4 percent ad valorem.
