RE: The tariff classification of electrolytic chromium metal from China.
Dear Ms. Enkhbold:
In your letter dated March 16, 2010 you requested a tariff classification ruling.
The product you plan to import is identified as electrolytic chromium metal. Containing at least 99.95 percent chromium, this metal is imported in flake form.
The applicable subheading for the electrolytic chromium metal will be 8112.21.0000 Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for beryllium, chromium, germanium, vanadium, gallium, hafnium, indium, niobium (columbium), rhenium and thallium, and articles of these metals, including waste and scrap, chromium, unwrought; powders. The rate of duty will be 3 percent ad valorem.

This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
