RE: The tariff classification of ornaments completely covered with glass glitters from China
Dear Ms. Chan:
In your letter dated May 16, 2012, you requested a tariff classification ruling. Representative samples were submitted with your ruling request. As per your request, these samples are being returned to you.
The product under consideration, “Glitter Stars Vase Filler” - SKU #9899402, is a package of 20 decorative, star-shaped, ornaments (10 large, 2 ¼ ” in diameter and 10 small, 1 ¾” in diameter).
Each ornament is composed of paperboard that is completely covered on both sides with glass “glitter.”
The applicable subheading for the ornaments covered with glass glitters, SKU#9899402, will be 7018.90.5000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for glass beads, imitation pearls, imitation precious or semiprecious stones and similar glass smallwares and articles thereof…other: other. The rate of duty will be 6.6 percent ad valorem.

This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
