RE: The tariff classification of keder fabric from China
Dear Mr. Choi:
In your letter dated May 29, 2014, you requested a tariff classification ruling.
You submitted a sample of polyethylene keder fabric, style GD12 (13)-10-30, which will be imported in 200 meter rolls. The keder rolls are made up from woven textile fabric with a rubber backing, which is a textile fabric for tariff purposes. The fabric has an extruded PVC (polyvinylchloride) or rubber cord bonded to one edge. The PVC or rubber cordage acts as an edge reinforcement for the fabric panel that helps when the fabric panels are installed to metal framing fixtures for permanent fabric structures, or to connect flat or shaped fabric panels with metal frames.
The applicable subheading for the keder fabric will be 6307.90.9889, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States, (HTSUS), which provides for other made up textile articles, other. The rate of duty will be 7% ad valorem.
Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/.
The sample will be retained by this office for our files.
This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported. If you have any questions regarding the ruling, contact National Import Specialist Mitchel Bayer at [email protected].
