RE: The tariff classification of Adult Disposable Special Needs Bib from China
Dear Ms. Marshall:
In your letter dated August 25, 2014, you requested a tariff classification ruling.
You submitted a sample identified as an Adult Disposable Special Needs Bib. You state that the adult bib is constructed of 22% nonwoven polypropylene, 27% polyethylene film and 51% paper. The bib measures approximately 29 inches in width by 15 inches in length. It is designed to cover the torso and is secured around the neck with a piece of tape. You stated in your letter that the bib is designed for oneātime use. These bibs will be sold to hospitals and home care facilities.
The applicable subheading for the Adult Disposable Special Needs Bib will be 9619.00.1100, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for Sanitary towels (pads) and tampons, diapers and diaper liners for babies and similar articles, of any material: Of paper pulp. The rate of duty will be Free.
