RE: The tariff classification of a mitt from China
Dear Mr. Guerrera:
In your letter dated June 15, 2015, you requested a tariff classification ruling.
The sample submitted, style 40583, “Groomer Glove”, is a mitt composed of a three-ply fabric. The outer fabric is constructed of 100% rayon pile knit fabric laminated to polyurethane foam and an inner lining of 50% cotton, 50% polyester fabric. The mitt is used to clean and massage pets without water.
The applicable subheading for the mitt will be 6116.99.4800, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for Gloves, mittens and mitts, knitted or crocheted: other of other textile materials: of artificial fibers: other: without fourchettes. The duty rate will be 18.8 percent ad valorem.
