RE: The tariff classification of Zoledronic Acid Injection in dosage form, from India
Dear Ms. Lestage:
In your letter dated May 23, 2022, you requested a tariff classification ruling.
Zoledronic Acid Injection, imported in 4 mg/5 mL single dose vials, belongs to a class of drugs known as bisphosphonates. It is indicated for the treatment of hypercalcemia of malignancy, patients with multiple myeloma and patients with documented bone metastases from solid tumors, in conjunction with antineoplastic therapy.
The applicable subheading for the Zoledronic Acid Injection in dosage form will be 3004.90.9291, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Medicaments… consisting of mixed or unmixed products for therapeutic or prophylactic uses, put up in measured doses … or in forms or packings for retail sale: Other: Other: Other: Other.” The rate of duty will be free.
