RE: The tariff classification of Automotive Plug-in Fuses from Taiwan
Dear Mr. Martinez:
In your letter dated June 4, 1996 you requested a tariff classification ruling. The products
in question, samples submitted, are Automotive Plug-in Fuses of varying amperage with display
light, used in automotive electrical systems. The display light, incorporated within the fuse, will
illuminate when replacement is necessary.
The applicable subheading for the plug-in fuses will be 8536.10.0040, Harmonized Tariff
Schedules of the United States (HTS), which provides for other fuses, for a voltage not
exceeding 1000 V. The rate of duty will be 4.3% ad valorem.
This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Section 177 of the Customs
Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
A copy of this ruling letter should be attached to the entry documents filed at the time this
merchandise is imported. If the documents have been filed without a copy, this ruling should be
brought to the attention of the Customs Officer handling the transaction.
Sincerely,
Rudy Cole
