RE: The tariff classification of Calcium Lactate, Calcium Citrate, Biological Calcium Carbonate Dry Base, Calcium Acetate Dry Base from China

In your letter dated October 20, 1997, you requested a tariff classification ruling.
The applicable subheading for Calcium Acetate Dry Base will be 2915.29.5000, HTS, which provides for Saturated acyclic monocarboxylic acids and their anhyrides, halides, peroxides and peroxyacids; their halogenated, sulfonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives: Acetic acid and its salts; acetic anhydride: Other: Other. The rate of duty will be 2.8 percent ad valorem.
The applicable subheading for Calcium Lactate will be 2918.11.5000, HTS, which provides for Carboxylic acids with additional oxygen function and their anhydrides, halides, peroxides and peroxyacids; their halogenated, sulfonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives: Carboxylic acids with alcohol function but without other oxygen function, their anhyrides, halides, peroxides, peroxacids and their derivatives: Lactic acid, its salts and esters: Other. The rate of duty will be 3.4 percent ad valorem.
The applicable subheading for Calcium Citrate will be 2918.15.5000, HTS, which provides for Carboxylic acids with additional oxygen function and their anhydrides, halides, peroxides and peroxyacids; their halogenated, sulfonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives: Carboxylic acids with alcohol function but without other oxygen function, their anhyrides, halides, peroxides, peroxacids and their derivatives: Salts and esters of citric acid: Other. The rate of duty will be 3.7 percent ad valorem.
