RE: The tariff classification of 3-Chloropropionitrile (CAS # 542-76-7) from Japan
Dear Mr. Chivini:
In your letter dated February 13, 2001, you requested a tariff classification ruling.
The applicable subheading for 3-Chloropropionitrile, also known as Propanenitrile, 3-chloro-, will be 2926.90.5050, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for Nitrile-function compounds: Other: Other: Other….. The rate of duty will be free.
This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
