Inspector General review and agency accountability
(a)
Audit survey
Not later than 120 days after
October 24, 1992
, each Inspector General created to conduct and supervise audits and investigations relating to the programs and operations of the establishments listed in
section 401(1) of title 5
, and the Chief Postal Inspector of the United States Postal Service, in accordance with
section 415(f) of title 5
shall—
(1)
identify agency compliance activities to meet the requirements of section 543 of the National Energy Conservation Policy Act (
42 U.S.C. 8253
) and any other matters relevant to implementing the goals of such Act; and
(2)
determine if the agency has the internal accounting mechanisms necessary to assess the accuracy and reliability of energy consumption and energy cost figures required under such section.
