RE: REVOCATION OF ANTIDUMPING DUTY ORDER ON MELAMINE
INSTITUTIONAL DINNERWARE FROM TAIWAN (A-583-825)


1. AS A RESULT OF A FIVE-YEAR ("SUNSET") REVIEW, THE DEPARTMENT
OF COMMERCE HAS REVOKED THE ANTIDUMPING DUTY ORDER ON MELAMINE
INSTITUTIONAL DINNERWARE FROM TAIWAN AND PUBLISHED THE REVOCATION
IN THE FEDERAL REGISTER ON FEBRUARY 19, 2002 (67 FR 7355). THE
EFFECTIVE DATE OF THE REVOCATION IS FEBRUARY 25, 2002.

2. THEREFORE, CUSTOMS IS DIRECTED TO TERMINATE THE SUSPENSION OF
LIQUIDATION FOR ALL SHIPMENTS OF MELAMINE INSTITUTIONAL
DINNERWARE FROM TAIWAN ENTERED OR WITHDRAWN FROM WAREHOUSE FOR
CONSUMPTION ON OR AFTER FEBRUARY 25, 2002. ALL ENTRIES OF THE
SUBJECT MERCHANDISE THAT WERE SUSPENDED ON OR AFTER FEBRUARY 25,
2002 SHOULD BE LIQUIDATED WITHOUT REGARD TO ANTIDUMPING DUTIES
(I.E., RELEASE ALL BONDS AND REFUND ALL CASH DEPOSITS, WITH
INTEREST.) INTEREST SHALL BE CALCULATED FROM THE DATE PAYMENT OF
ESTIMATED ANTIDUMPING DUTIES IS REQUIRED THROUGH THE DATE OF
LIQUIDATION. THE RATE AT WHICH SUCH INTEREST IS PAYABLE IS THE
RATE IN EFFECT UNDER SECTION 6621 OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE OF
1954 FOR SUCH PERIOD.

3. ALL SUSPENDED ENTRIES OF THE SUBJECT PRODUCT ENTERED OR
WITHDRAWN FROM WAREHOUSE PRIOR TO FEBRUARY 25, 2002 SHOULD NOT,
REPEAT NOT, BE LIQUIDATED UNTIL YOU RECEIVE SEPARATE AND SPECIFIC
LIQUIDATION INSTRUCTIONS.
