ON AUGUST 26, 1991, IN RESPONSE TO A REQUEST BY ESSCO
INCORPORATED (ESSCO), THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE ISSUED A FINAL
DETERMINATION ON THE A REQUEST FOR SCOPE CLARIFICATION STATING
THAT THE FOLLOWING BEARINGS WHICH ESSCO IMPORTS INTO THE UNITED
STATES ARE LINEAR MOTION BEARINGS WHICH FALL OUTSIDE THE SCOPE OF
THE ANTIDUMPING DUTY ORDERS ON ANTIFRICTION BEARINGS.
THOSE BEARINGS WHICH ARE IDENTIFIED AS A NO. SSAR SEALED
BEARING AND ARE PURCHASED FOR SHAFT SIZES 1-3\4", 2-1\2", AND
3-1\2" DIAMETER.
THESE BEARINGS, WHICH ARE SEALED,
SELF-ALIGNING SPHERICAL BEARING CARTRIDGES, CONSIST OF AN
OUTER SPHERICALLY GROUND SLEEVE AND AN INNER SLEEVE
SEPARATED BY BALL BEARINGS HELD IN PLACE BY A RETAINER AND
OUTER SEALS.
THEY ARE IDENTIFIED BY ESSCO AFTER IMPORTATION
AS ESSCO PART NUMBER A-7014.
2.
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, TERMINATE SUSPENSION AND LIQUIDATE ALL
UNLIQUIDATED ENTRIES, REGARDLESS OF ENTRY DATE, OF THE
ABOVE-LISTED PRODUCTS.
3.
REFUND ANY CASH DEPOSITS AND RELEASE ANY BONDS RELATING TO
THE ABOVE-LISTED PRODUCTS.
4.
IN ACCORDANCE WITH PREVIOUS INSTRUCTIONS, CONTINUE TO SUSPEND
LIQUIDATION OF ALL OTHER ENTRIES OF ANTIFRICTION BEARINGS FROM
THE UNITED KINGDOM.
