1. ON MAY 2, 1994, THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE (THE DEPARTMENT)
PUBLISHED IN THE FEDERAL REGISTER (59 FR 22584) THE FINAL
RESULTS OF CHANGED CIRCUMSTANCES ANTIDUMPING DUTY
ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW; REVOCATION OF ORDER. AS A RESULT, THE
DEPARTMENT HAS REVOKED THE ANTIDUMPING DUTY ORDER ON PORTABLE
ELECTRIC TYPEWRITERS FROM JAPAN AND TERMINATED THE
ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEWS COVERING THE FOLLOWING PERIODS: MAY 1,
1990 THROUGH APRIL 30, 1991 (INITIATED ON JUNE 18, 1991) (56
FR 27943)); MAY 1, 1991 THROUGH APRIL 30, 1992 (INITIATED ON
JUNE 18, 1992 (57 FR 27212)); AND MAY 1, 1992 THROUGH APRIL
30, 1993 (INITIATED ON JUNE 25, 1993 (58 FR 34414)).

2. FOR ALL COMPANIES FOR WHICH AN ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW HAS BEEN
REQUESTED BUT NOT COMPLETED (LISTED BELOW), THE EFFECTIVE
DATE OF REVOCATION WILL BE MAY 1, 1990. MAY 1, 1990, IS THE
FIRST DAY AFTER THE MOST RECENT PERIOD FOR WHICH AN
ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW HAS BEEN COMPLETED FOR ALL OF THESE
COMPANIES. THEREFORE, FOR ALL ENTRIES OF THE SUBJECT
MERCHANDISE FROM THE FOLLOWING COMPANIES AND PERIODS CUSTOMS
SHOULD DISCONTINUE SUSPENSION OF LIQUIDATION AND APPRAISE
WITHOUT REGARD TO ANTIDUMPING DUTIES. IN ADDITION, FOR THESE
SAME COMPANIES AND PERIODS, CUSTOMS SHOULD REFUND WITH
INTEREST ANY ESTIMATED ANTIDUMPING DUTIES COLLECTED.

THROUGH APRIL 30, 1993 SHOULD BE LIQUIDATED IN ACCORDANCE
WITH PREVIOUSLY ISSUED INSTRUCTIONS.

4. FOR ALL OTHER COMPANIES SUBJECT TO THIS ANTIDUMPING DUTY
ORDER, THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF REVOCATION WILL BE MAY 1, 1993.
MAY 1, 1993, IS THE FIRST DAY FOR WHICH AUTOMATIC LIQUIDATION
INSTRUCTIONS HAVE NOT BEEN ISSUED FOR THESE OTHER COMPANIES.
THEREFORE, FOR ALL SHIPMENTS OF THE SUBJECT MERCHANDISE,
REGARDLESS OF MANUFACTURER AND/OR SHIPPER, ENTERED OR
WITHDRAWN FROM WAREHOUSE FOR CONSUMPTION ON OR AFTER MAY 1,
1993, CUSTOMS SHOULD DISCONTINUE SUSPENSION OF LIQUIDATION
AND APPRAISE WITHOUT REGARD TO ANTIDUMPING DUTIES. IN
ADDITION, CUSTOMS SHOULD REFUND WITH INTEREST ANY ESTIMATED
ANTIDUMPING DUTIES COLLECTED WITH RESPECT TO ALL ENTRIES MADE
ON OR AFTER MAY 1, 1993.

5. ALL UNLIQUIDATED ENTRIES ENTERED BEFORE MAY 1, 1990, SHOULD
BE LIQUIDATED IN ACCORDANCE WITH EITHER PREVIOUSLY ISSUED OR
PENDING INSTRUCTIONS.

6. THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 778 OF THE TARIFF ACT REQUIRE THAT
INTEREST BE PAID ON OVERPAYMENTS AND UNDERPAYMENTS OF AMOUNTS
DEPOSITED AS ESTIMATED ANTIDUMPING OR COUNTERVAILING DUTIES.
SUCH INTEREST IS PAYABLE AT THE RATE IN EFFECT UNDER SECTION
6621 OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE OF 1954 FOR SUCH PERIOD.
THE INTEREST SHALL BE CALCULATED AT THAT RATE FROM THE DATE
OF PAYMENT OF ESTIMATED DUTIES THROUGH THE DATE OF
LIQUIDATION.

7. THIS E-MAIL CONSTITUTES THE IMMEDIATE LIFTING OF SUSPENSION
OF LIQUIDATION OF ENTRY SUMMARIES FOR THE MERCHANDISE AND
PERIODS LISTED ABOVE.
