All Automated Trade Participant: Data Communications Changes
Please be advised that U.S.
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) must begin implementation of Trade Systems network changes as the Agency transitions from GSA FTS2001 contract services to the new GSA schedule services available through the Networx Universal contract. The awarded services providers for CBP network services are:
• MCI Communications Services, doing business as Verizon Business services
• AT&T Corp.
CBP continues with it’s goals for retirement of frame relay services. Due to the time it will take for vendors to make services available for ordering, CBP is extending the sunset date for frame relay services to December, 2009. The government contract vehicle currently available with Sprint will expire in June of 2010. Verizon services are available immediately. AT&T network services must be available by January 2009.
Networx Universal transforms the current federal communications system to a secure, world-wide IP and MPLS-based network compliant with IPv6 and other major technological advances anticipated throughout it’s contract life. Watch this site for changes and enhancements to CBP Trade systems network services.
