RELATING TO IMPLEMENTATION OF THIS MULTI-COUNTRY SHRIMP EMBARGO.
THIS REGARD, THE FOLLOWING ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IS PROVIDED.
- THE IMPORTER IS NOT REQUIRED TO FILE THE APPLICABLE STATE
DEPARTMENT FORM DSP-121, "SHRIMP EXPORTER'S/IMPORTER'S DECLA-
RATION" WITH HIS CUSTOMS ENTRY. THUS, THIS FORM IS NOT REQUIRE
FOR RELEASE OF THE SHRIMP FROM CUSTOMS CUSTODY. INSTEAD, IT IS
REQUIRED THAT THE IMPORTER HAVE THE DSP-121 FORM ON FILE AT TH
TIME OF FILING HIS CUSTOMS ENTRY FOR THE SHRIMP IMPORTATION (A
WE SIMILARILY REQUIRE THE NAFTA "CERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN" TO BE
IN HIS POSSESSION AT THE TIME OF FILING HIS ENTRY CLAIMING
NAFTA PREFERENTIAL TARIFF TREATMENT).
- THIS EMAIL MESSAGE IS INTENDED TO CLARIFY ITEM 3 UNDER "ACTION
OF OUR REFERENCED MESSAGE OF MAY 1, 1996.
- IF CUSTOMS OR STATE DEPARTMENT LATER WISHES TO VERIFY INFORMAT
ON A PARTICULAR DSP-121 FORM OR TO INSURE THAT THE IMPORTER
ACTUALLY HAS SUCH FORM ON FILE (WHICH IS MANDATORY FOR FILING
SHRIMP ENTRY COVERED BY THIS EMBARGO), IT WILL BE REQUESTED TO
BE FURNISHED TO THAT AGENCY AND/OR OURS, AS APPROPRIATE.
